With the acquisition of the companies Lauge Food Selection A/S and Camsac-Lauge Seafood A/S, hereinafter Lauge Food, Geia Food is expanding its product range with more Asian specialties and seafood which now stand to be marketed to the rest of the Nordic region.

Group CEO of Geia Food, Claus Ravnsbo says:

“Lauge Food is a very well-run company which has established itself as one of the leading Danish importers of Asian specialties and seafood within a short number of years. The company faces exciting growth opportunities, where the organization will be strengthened and the concepts marketed outside Denmark. Geia is perfectly positioned to be able to assist with this work, and together with our skilled Scandinavian colleagues, we will support a roll-out of the company’s value-creating concepts in both Norway and Sweden.”

Lauge Food is headquartered in Middelfart and has ten employees. The company was established in 2012 by Kristian Lauge Jørgensen and today has several Scandinavian retail chains, food service- and industrial customers. In 2021, the company had a turnover of approximately 170 million DKK.

“With the acquisition of Lauge Food, Geia will have access to skilled purchasing, sales and product development competencies in addition to an exciting supplier base within e.g. Asian specialties. We will gradually integrate Lauge Foods’ activities into the Geia umbrella with the aim of appearing as a unified and strong unit that can serve our customers and suppliers to an even greater degree.”

The company’s founder Kristian Lauge Jørgensen will continue as a partner in the new structure, where he will continue as director of Lauge Food during the integration period.

The completion of the transaction is subject to final approval from the Danish competition authorities.
